Poet, practitioner, performer, and host.
As host of Banyen Books In Conversation, a video & audio podcast, Ross has interviewed the world's leading spiritual teachers, thinkers, artists, scientists, activists and authors.
Ross has been writing poetry, prose, songs, contemplations, and jokes since childhood. At 36, he is preparing to release his first book — a collection of his writings on life, nature, love, longing and spiritual reflection.
Ross is a practitioner of the classical Indian life sciences of Yoga traditional Tantra of South India under the guidance of his teacher and mentor Yogacharini Maitreyi. Apprenticing since 2015, Ross is the Community Director & Assistant Teacher Trainer for Yogacharini Maitreyi’s school, Arkaya Awareness Centre, and grass roots charity, Arkaya Foundation. He periodically facilitates private trainings for groups on request - from First Nations students to elders, men's groups to corporations.
Along with his background as a writer and practitioner, Ross also has a varied history as a rugby player, business student & entrepreneur, traveller, and as an actor/comedian. Through these experiences, as well as his time working with those with special needs and in private practice offering integrative coaching and healing, Ross is grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to learn a great deal about the human condition and human spirit.
Growing up in the beauty of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, Ross now makes his home on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
